The Muslims and the Europeans are mainly interconnected in terms of trade and exchange of art and culture. In fact, Venice was built with the purpose of carrying ocean trade (Globalyceum.com, n.d.). In terms of natural resources they had only fishes therefore; they were dependent on trade for their growth. It all started with Venice being the most important trading center when the Ottomans captured Constantinople. But before Ottomans, Venice had the experience of trade with Egyptian Sultans. The Egyptians had full control over the trade of pepper as they controlled the Mediterranean trade because of the access they had to India.
